Inside Oshom Bali at Nuanu Creative City
Some places stay with you long after you leave.
Not because they’re flashy.
Or over-the-top luxurious.
But because you can feel the intention behind them.
That’s exactly how I felt staying at Oshom Bali inside Nuanu Creative City — one of the most unique and creative spaces I’ve experienced in Bali.
And honestly… it’s hard to explain Nuanu until you see it for yourself.
It feels like a city of the future being built in real time.
A creative ecosystem blending art, innovation, sustainability, education, wellness, nature and community — all set along the coastline of Bali.
Everywhere you turn there are installations, creative spaces, wellness concepts and experiences designed to make you think differently.
It’s immersive in the best possible way.

A boutique eco stay with soul
Tucked within Nuanu is Oshom — a boutique eco hotel that instantly feels warm, grounded and deeply intentional.
Not “eco” in a performative way.
Eco in a way that feels thoughtful and lived.
And the details here really matter.
I struggle sometimes travelling in Bali and Thailand with the overpowering smell of chemical washing powders on sheets and towels. It can completely impact how relaxed I feel in a space.
At Oshom, everything felt clean, fresh and natural.
The hotel has a strong sustainability focus, using natural materials, minimising plastic and creating a lower-impact experience that feels aligned with the environment around it.
You can feel the difference.

One of my favourite hotel rooms… ever
I’ve stayed in a lot of beautiful places over the years.
But my room at Oshom is honestly up there as one of my all-time favourites.
Waking up to the sound of rolling waves, birds singing and soft morning light pouring into the room felt like therapy for my nervous system.
There was incredible artwork on the walls by local artists, earthy textures everywhere, and little thoughtful touches that made the space feel human — not just styled for Instagram.
One of my favourite details?
A hand pan sitting on a floor cushion in the room, inviting you to slow down and play.
Colour pencils and paper left out to doodle, journal or create.
Tiny reminders to reconnect with creativity and stillness — something most of us don’t make enough time for anymore.
And then… the disco ball in the walk-in robe.
Completely unnecessary. Completely fabulous.
That tiny touch of sparkle and fun somehow summed up the entire energy of the place — thoughtful, playful and not taking itself too seriously.
The attention to detail was exceptional.

Architecture that makes you feel something
One of the standout spaces at Oshom is the breathtaking yoga shala and open-air massage space overlooking the ocean.
Designed by architect Pablo Luna Studio, the space immediately reminded me of the beautiful retreat structures at Intaaya Retreat on Nusa Penida.
Organic. Grounding. Open to nature.
The kind of architecture that doesn’t compete with the landscape — it works with it.
And when the ocean breeze rolls through during yoga or a treatment, you understand why spaces like this affect people so deeply.

The energy of the place starts with the owner
You can always tell when a founder genuinely loves what they’re building.
And that warmth is everywhere at Oshom.
When you speak to the owner, Daisy, she lights up talking about the land, the vision and the intention behind the space.
It doesn’t feel like a business first.
It feels like a passion project brought to life.
And I think that’s why the hotel feels so different.
There’s soul here.
Sunday Rituals: community, connection and sunset sessions
One of the highlights of my stay was experiencing Oshom’s Sunday Rituals.
Every Sunday, the community comes together for an afternoon and evening of:
- Guest speakers
- Musicians
- Breathwork sessions
- Wellness experiences
- Sunset DJ sets by the ocean
And the vibe is fun, relaxed and genuinely welcoming.
You can sip on cocktails if you feel like it… or fresh coconuts like I did, staying hydrated while dancing barefoot at sunset.
I also had the opportunity to speak at one of the events, sharing my story and talking about my book Biohack Me and the power of biohacking for health and longevity.
It felt less like an “event” and more like a gathering of curious, open-minded humans.

Bali has no shortage of beautiful hotels.
But places like Oshom are rare.
Because what makes it special isn’t just the design or the location.
It’s the feeling.
The creativity.
The warmth.
The intention.
The invitation to slow down, reconnect and create space to think differently.
And in a world that feels increasingly loud and overstimulating… that might just be the ultimate luxury.
