A peaceful little sanctuary in Bingin that feels like coming home to yourself
Not every wellness experience needs to be a luxury resort with cold plunges and biohacking technology.
Sometimes it’s the smaller places that stay with you most.
The quiet ones.
The grounded ones.
The places that make you instantly exhale the moment you walk through the door.
That’s exactly how I feel about Lakra Villas in Bingin.
Tucked away in the heart of Uluwatu, this boutique stay is one of those rare hidden gems that feels special from the moment you arrive — peaceful, beautifully styled, incredibly safe, and somehow deeply comforting all at once.
And the best part?
Rooms start from around $55 AUD a night.

The kind of place solo travellers dream about
As someone who travels solo often, I’ve realised the places I return to aren’t always the fanciest.
They’re the places that make me feel held, safe, calm and connected.
Lakra Villas has that energy.
The staff are genuinely wonderful — warm without being intrusive, kind in a way that feels natural and heartfelt.
There’s a softness to this place that’s hard to explain until you experience it yourself.
It doesn’t feel transactional.
It feels personal.

Beautiful without trying too hard
The aesthetic here is simple, clean and intentional.
Think boutique Bali charm without the chaos.
Soft tones.
Beautiful styling.
Quiet corners.
A peaceful pool.
It’s the kind of place where you wake slowly, sip on a tea, journal by the pool and suddenly realise your nervous system has finally relaxed.
And tucked inside the property is a beautiful little boutique filled with gorgeous clothes, jewellery and bags — the kind of pieces you “just quickly browse” and somehow end up wanting to take home with you.

The location is honestly perfect
One of the reasons I love staying here so much is that everything I personally love in Bingin is close by.
You’re right around the corner from The Cashew Tree for healthy meals and relaxed vibes, close to Bali Training Centre for gym sessions, and only a short bike ride to Alchemy — one of my favourite cafés in Bali.
You’ve also got Bambu Fitness and recovery oasis nearby which is incredible.
It’s one of those locations where you can easily create your own little wellness rhythm for the week.
And then there’s the spa next door…

Honestly? This alone is worth mentioning.
Right next door is the sweetest little local spa offering 90-minute massages for around $25 AUD — and they are incredible.
Not rushed.
Not overly polished.
Just genuinely good treatments from kind people who know what they’re doing.
It became part of my daily ritual while staying there.
Massage. Slow walk home. Early night. Repeat.

Why places like this matter
There’s a lot of noise in travel now.
Big wellness trends. Expensive experiences. Constant stimulation.
But sometimes the most healing places are the ones that simply make you feel comfortable enough to slow down.
That’s what this place gave me.
