How Deer Valley Is Redefining Women-Focused Adventure in 2025

Deer Valley

At Deer Valley Resort, where pristine powder meets five-star service, the story has long centred on world-class skiing. But in 2025, this iconic Utah destination is carving out a bold new chapter that reaches far beyond its legendary winter slopes.

Nestled just 61 kilometres from Salt Lake City International Airport in the historic town of Park City, Deer Valley has long been the go-to for discerning skiers seeking corduroy perfection, uniformed valets and five-star on-mountain dining. Now, the resort is gearing up for its biggest transformation in decades: a major expansion that doubles its skiable terrain, introduces a Summer schedule packed with alpine adventure and leans into a growing global trend – wellness and women-focused travel.

According to Emily Summers, the Communications Director for Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, “here are three things you may not know about Deer Valley Resort.”

The first is a growing focus on women’s wellness, something the resort has woven into its programming through specially curated clinics. “One, we have amazing women’s wellness clinics led by former Olympians right there in the mountain,” she says. “A whole wellness package, bringing mindfulness to the mountain, helping you approach the sport in a holistic way and bump your skill level to the next level. Whether it’s knowing how to ski groomers to getting into the bumps or the trees, you’re with a group of experienced, like-minded women to push you to that next step.”

It’s part of a broader movement towards meaningful travel – especially for women travellers seeking both connection and challenge. “It’s really all about bonding. Bonding with yourself on the mountain in those magical vistas, doing solo travel, whether you’re joining group tours or clinics, or really bringing in that holistic wellness experience,” she says. “We have Jillian Botley, a multi-Olympic mogul skier who leads wellness clinics for all women from one day to three days, and you’re really going to get in touch with your mindfulness and bring your skiing to the next level with like-minded people.”

And, when Winter turns to Summer, the mountain transforms again. Deer Valley’s warm-weather season now features over 100 kilometres of lift-served bike and hiking trails, scenic gondola rides, a world-class concert series, guided historical tours and a Summer Adventure Camp for kids aged two months to 12 years. Mountain bikers can explore flow trails designed by Gravity Logic, including Regulator and Ripple, two newer additions tailored to both intermediate and beginner riders.

Those seeking slower-paced pleasures can unwind at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheatre, with live performances under the stars, or indulge in the culinary creations at Royal Street Cafe and The Brass Tag – where dishes are as elevated as the views. And, even mid-mountain you’ll find apres offerings: from the vintage-ski-vibe bar Sticky Wicket to the decadent champagne yurt Chute Eleven, where lobster and caviar grilled cheese meets DJ sets and caviar tastings.

Still, it’s the ski season that remains the heartbeat of the resort. “Number two, we are a ski-only resort with limited skier capacities,” says Summers. “We focus on that sport of skiing and we sell out to have skiers have the most space and enjoyment on the mountain each day.”

This emphasis on exclusivity and experience is part of what Deer Valley dubs “The Deer Valley Difference” – a trifecta of exceptional guest service, ski-only access, and limited daily visitation. In a ski industry that often prioritises scale, Deer Valley’s approach has always been about intimacy, even as it expands.

Which brings Emily to her third reveal: “Number three, we are expanding,” she says. “By next year, Deer Valley Resort will be double in size. And, what that also means is a whole new network of beginner terrain, including one of the longest green runs in skiing called Green Monster. It’ll be just under five miles or close to seven to eight kilometres. And it was going to be a beginner green level skier’s dream and bring you to above the tree line to vistas that you may have never experienced before.”

Slated to open for the 2025–26 season, the resort’s expansion includes the new Deer Valley East Village, which introduces 1,200 additional parking spots, new lifts including a 10-passenger gondola, and access to over 800 hectares of new terrain across four mountain peaks. And, while it brings infrastructure, restaurants, and skier services – it also adds something more: a fresh sense of adventure, all grounded in the hospitality Deer Valley is known for.

As Emily says, it’s not just about skiing more, but skiing – and travelling – better.
